Welcome to Geekrastinator
This site is about creation and activity. Creation isn't work, creation is just the spore of a geeky life. Of course you don't need to create if you don't have that drive but all the same we hope to give you ideas of how to fill your time so that you don't end up spending three score years and ten watching repeats of Seinfeld and Friends.
Our aim is to kill your television. Next we intend to see you leave the house, smartphone or laptop in hand. We want you to discover life outside those doors. This is Geekrastinator so we don't expect you to go out and play cricket or croquet or something, our aim is that this tech needs to be released from these four walls. Smartphones are good! Netbooks are good! Tablets are good! iMacs may be cool, but unless you have strapped one to a ride in mower with a massive battery for a power supply they are not for us.
Save yourselves
For the early part of our evolution we ran wild in the woods, we foraged for berries, we brought down and feasted upon mammoth. Life was one long summer camp until technology came along. At first the changes were for the good, we invented the sharp stick and we discovered fire. We realised that we could ferment fruit and drink it and everything pretty much went along as planned. We carried on running about in the woods and a jolly good time was had by all. But then technology was turned against us.
Beginnings
You are statistically likely to have been drawn into the commonly held belief, lingering from our industrial past and distant history of serfdom, that in order to live a happy and productive life we have to live a miserable 9-5 existence doing stuff that we don't want to do. If you are in the minority who have found there way into a position that truly fulfils and pleases you then you need not worry too much about what I am writing here, but for the rest of us, the normal people, the proletariat, we have a way out.
